Speech and Debate Volunteers needed October 27 and 28
Speech and Debate Volunteer Opportunity!
SAUSD is hosting an elementary and middle school Speech and Debate tournament and we are looking for students interested in judging or assisting in exchange for community service hours. Ms. Statler (room 1-262) will provide judge training for any student who is interested (they will receive community service for that time too) and students who judge on Saturday will be provided breakfast and lunch. If you could please share this information with students and ask them to sign up ASAP that would be awesome. OC Human Resources Services Volunteer
The Orange County Social Services Agency (SSA) operates under the policy direction of the Orange County Board of Supervisors and the California Departments of Social Services and Health Services.
Under close supervision, volunteers will assist SSA staff with tasks such as: opening, sorting and processing mail, filing, basic data entry/word processing, scanning documents, reception backup, lobby assistance, packet stuffing, faxing, preparing training packages, training room preparation and clean-up, escorting trainees to classroom, boxing legal folders, setting appointments, answering phones, working in store room and forms room, and other clerical duties as needed.

Big Brothers Big Sisters
Through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Leadership Development Program, high school students can develop their strengths as young leaders, discover future career opportunities and become advocates for social change. Three distinct mentoring tracks are offered to launch future leaders into college, career and beyond.
High school students can find their own voices and become community advocates while serving as role models to elementary school youth at participating elementary schools.

NewPort Bay Conservancy Volunteer
Hands-on habitat restoration activities are a great opportunity for the public to be involved in a meaningful way here at the Bay without making any long-term volunteer commitment. Service learning hours are available for students and groups are welcome. During the rainy season, native plants are planted. At other times of the year, the activities are more maintenance oriented, and include removal of non-native plants and temporary watering of the new natives.

Discovery Cube Volunteer
Our enthusiastic and active group of teen volunteers serve mostly on weekends, school holidays, and during the summer. Are you outgoing and have a passion for STEM? Do you enjoy working with people (especially kids)? We’re seeking high schoolers ages 15-18 who’d like to dig in and explore! Don’t worry – your commitment is do-able for even busy teens, with a minimum requirement of 4 hours of service every 30 days (but you’ll find most of our teens do even more!) Bolsa Chica Conservancy Volunteer

The Bolsa Chica Conservancy is a small non-profit organization, so we are highly dependent on our incredible crew of dedicated volunteers. As an Explorer, young adults have the opportunity to assist the Orange County Sheriff's Department in community and civic events such as parades, health fairs and charitable events. Irvine Ranch Conservancy Volunteer
There are numerous ways to get involved in stewarding and experiencing the precious natural resources of the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks. The Conservancy manages the LetsGoOutside.org website on behalf of a collaborative network of public landowners and partner non-profit groups. Getting involved is as easy as participating in a hike, volunteering on the Native Seed Farm, pulling an invasive weed, or helping out with trail maintenance.

About AP With WE Service
In the AP with WE Service program, students engage in service learning activities to strengthen their understanding of AP course content and skills, using what they’re learning to tackle real-life social issues.
Here are examples of service projects that students in the AP with WE Service program have completed:
- Creating an app to help people who suffer from anxiety and panic attacks (AP Computer Science A)
- Advocating for improved prison conditions to state legislators (AP United States Government and Politics)
- Building a fuel cell to provide electrical energy to areas affected by natural disasters (AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism)

OC Sports Volunteer

CHOC Hospital Volunteer

The volunteers at CHOC generously dedicate their time to help us provide the very best pediatric services in Orange County. For almost 50 years, the volunteer programs at CHOC and CHOC at Mission have provided vital assistance to all hospital departments.
Feeding America
At Feeding America you can keep the shelves stocked by assembling food boxes and distribution, help your neighbors feed their families, help ensure our most vulnerable neighbors have the food they need while staying safe, collect food left in fields after harvest, help tend the food bank, help tend the food pantry's community garden, and help spread awareness.
Music to Heal Program
The UCI Music to Heal program was developed to improve the well-being of patients and their experiences by bringing music into the hospital environment. Music to Heal seeks to provide a means and place for creative expression in the hospital. Volunteers perform for patients in the medical center's clinics as well as in the hospital. Current musical volunteers play guitar, cello, violin, harp, and piano. Volunteers play for a minimum of two hours.
